A Wobbly Marmalade Sunset - Surreal POetry by Freek

 A Wobbly Marmalade Sunset

I thought I saw your footprints in the steamed up mirror so I pickled a jar in the cubby hole
Flowing side by side triggered unfolding memories so I sat amongst the pigeons
Soul searching a George Michael album I found that a dictaphone was useful between the hours of 6 and 7pm
Rising spiky bottoms prompted a wobbly marmalade sunrise
The curled up spark went on and on and on until the butterfly found a book on Cockney rhyming slang
Drinking patterns of an unused summer was seen beyond the hill but faded inward
Restless legs hung from the pantry until Windows 95 crashed
A squeaky door became the safe word as your majesty flew past in a chipped teapot
The next viewing came as I was waiting but became vague about the natural ingredients
May I never have to disco dance in Yeadon I said out loud in a Russian accent
Made it past the finishing line and then my teeth fell out apart from one fang
I shall only say this once said Marshall Diva who struck a chord with everyone but the hardy few
Social media was taken over by strange insects that lowered the tone one octave
The pressure dropped into an empty beer can and around the bend came 129 stolen reasons
Diverted memories were posted in a large bubble wrapped envelope to an unknown PO Box
Enough time had passed so I opened my right eye and counted the red cars going east bound on the M62
I blamed the boogie for everything and lay down in a letter S shape
Happily swamped with my own animation it was soon choked on by your hidden chambers
Minding my own business I slid down the flickering street light until twilight found me and the show ended
