Yes I Tried, I Really Did - Surreal Poetry by Freek

Yes I Tried, I Really Did

There appears to be a gap in the rainbow
Switched my toothpaste back to my original one
Pressure turned my face into a spoon
Backed myself into a corner where Mrs Mole lived with her frozen left foot
Yes I tried, I really did

I let myself in the back way using an electric tin opener
My photographic memory ran out of film so I spent all of my milk tokens on pet snarls
The world shrunk and rolled into a tube which turned out to be an exhaust from a Morris Marina
We all remained on the same level until the pink flamingo lost its balance after trying on extra large green wellies
Come to think about it, I tried, I really did

You ordered a pina colada but instead a magician stole the show after she shrunk her head to the size of a mollusc
I woke up in lost property and ricocheted into the next month which was March
The words stumbled off the end of the page dropping into the neighbours skip which was full of wooden legs and plastic casters
From now on I shall entertain myself with a private party for one until the inevitable happens
Believe me when I say, I tried, I really did

The Lump Under The Carpet - Surreal Poetry by FReek

The Lump Under The Carpet

Bridging the gap between unknown pleasures
Fish and chips have been wrapped in yesterdays glitter and bows
What is this large lump under the carpet?
A bubble burst onto my lap leaving shards of a popular 70's comedian
My brain swayed too and fro in the winter breeze along with next doors hanging basket

I hid beneath my ribcage and stoked my inner rage with stolen clock hands from Dewsbury Town Hall
Trembling eye lids filled the sky as each one cried a tear of overripe mango juice
We are all at stage 5.5 and unsure of the cost of labour so far
The dripping of information detoxifies my grey matter
A red arrow shows me a new direction and I proceed with my battery on low

The mouldy cheese has paved the way for the garden gnome without his rod
I can see you have filled the out of date storage boxes with stolen foil from a biscuit factory
My eyes squint after I become aware of the scarecrow look becoming the latest fashion
Ordered my shopping whilst sleepwalking in a chicken suit which had red woollen tights
Then people spoke in loud murmurs as the local bus carried the midnight sky back to the depot

Greasy Lips - Poetry by Freek

 Greasy Lips

My brain flips

I do some dips
Buy me some chips
So I get greasy lips

Fond of the taste
Of this nutritional waste
Potato

An Unexpected Disappearing Act - Surreal Poetry

 An Unexpected Disappearing Act

Touched the end and fell about laughing into a ball of candy floss
Do I need a case of clap I said in an accent unknown
The hands fell off my watch and made their own way in life
Kettles endlessly whistled the tune of a Vera Lynn song
Puddles rained into the sky causing havoc with the London Underground
My inner being echoed into a long hum as the final curtain came down
A carousel of portraits stretched across my mind like colourful bubble gum
The sequences of life disrupted by an unexpected disappearing act

The silver lining fell from the cloud into a yawning farmer from Slaithwaite
His head turned inside out revealing two out of date library books
An 89 year old T-Rex fan lay in a star shape across the frozen peas section in Tesco
I spoke to the empty chair for nine days, four nights and two and a half minutes
The chimney with a perched crow on became a restricted area with no underlying rules
Mr Hustle and Mr Bustle became one in the glinting tower of red occupancy
Scripted chatter fell under the carpet and became an endless muffled groan
A remembered dilapidated warehouse full of words was repeated on shuffle
Confusion then became the norm and sliced thinly throughout our hideous state of mind

Hiraeth I Am - Poetry

 Hiraeth I Am

Hiraeth I am, alone
Yearning for the place I called home
A shell with no soul is all that is left
My heart feels no more as I'm drained and bereft
Hiraeth I am, alone

The Cake Filled With Unfortunate Happenings - Surreal Poetry

The Cake Filled With Unfortunate Happenings

This sentence is so long because of its curly tail plus the sum of 60 multiplied by your nearest and dearest

Amber ants climb the wall and tell me its time to face the nuts and bolts with crooked smiles
Stop marching backwards as winter is returning and I shall not hide amongst the hogs of yesteryear
Up, up and away I fill the time talking to a bleating sheep with a purple rinse who shares anger management tips
All the boxes are ticked for the jobsworths having being formed from a pink rubber mould made in China

I ask for a rewind on repeat until I'm blue in the face and consider my options from a nearby takeaway menu
One layer of the Russian doll made an appearance before it vanished on a milk float from Aberystwyth

The left hook broke my jaw as I tried to recite the complete works of William Shakespeare in my pink angel winged mohair jumper

Oh come all ye faithful to flex the seeds of Forget Me Nots

Three winks turn up in blindfolds which creates panic in the yoga class
Then bribery came with a Big Mac Deal and a lifetime supply of fountain pen cartridges

I hid under the table and played a game of Queenie with a large bearded man wearing a tag for being at the mushroom farm at the wrong time

The fog rolled in from the east which steamed up Vera Websters hexagonal glasses that she bought to clash with her lopsided head
The polar opposite of inaccuracy raced up to me in a bashed up Nissan Micra and I was force fed the cake of unfortunate happenings
