Radiant Energy - Canvas Wall Art

Radiant Energy  by Sam Freek

I could do with some of the warmth that is projected from this new canvas wall art today as it's a bit chilly to say the least. This artwork which is titled "Radiant Energy" is a recent photograph that I took that has been digitally manipulated to give it a fiery and energetic feel which comes from the vibrant colours of orange, yellow and red. The artwork reminds me of the warmth and energy that emits from an open fire as the flames dance around. The varying shades of blue conjure up a calming feeling amid the lively and passionate activity of the more vibrant colours.

This limited edition, abstract canvas art print is available in various large sizes as a landscape, square or triptych. Giclee printed onto high quality canvas before being hand mounted and wrapped onto 1.5 inch stretcher bars, a fine layer of varnish is also added to each print to highlight the artwork and to add extra protection. This canvas wall art is available buy online with custom sizes of up to 78 inch available (premium bars) and all my artwork can be delivered anywhere in the world. If you have any questions about this canvas art, my paintings or photography then please feel free to contact me (Sam Freek).

Social Media Frenzy - Information Overload

Social media is the 'norm' these days, check-in, tag me in, like, retweet, google plus, pin it, update status, what's happening? Favourite, share post.....arghhhhh! Somebody get me out of this mind numbing social media frenzy!

I'm thankfully old enough to remember what life was like before the internet and you know what, it was bloody brilliant, peaceful with no constant nagging in your head to check Facebook, Twitter or take a photo of yourself having a good time. Yes, I would miss the internet if it wasn't there but from the moment you get up to the moment you go to bed we all seem to be wrapped up in some social media site or surfing the internet, input, input, input.....information overload.

I've never been a big fan of Facebook as people tend to post photos of their food, themselves drinking or photos with quotes on so I started using Twitter but lately they have been posting adverts every 10 to 12 tweets, we are not amused (as Queen Victoria said). So I'm not sure which social media site to use, if any. I haven't got time to update them all and I don't want to use a social media management tool as it feels too impersonal. Pinterest is my favourite haunt and I could sit on there for hours and hours, I also have a friend who has been on Pinterest for hours and hours and seems to think she has seen ALL the funny photos available to her on the internet and is waiting for the world to create more.

The other thing about social media is that every post you share and every friend you make is recorded and converted into data, not really into advertisers thrusting what they see fit to ram down my throat at any given opportunity so I have signed up for an Ello account who don't share your information and there are no ads! Bonus. Just waiting for them to get back in touch with me as there is a long waiting list.

It feels like I have had a bit of a rant, but I think I will stick to Pinterest and updating my blog with random posts and some of my art and photography
